Agent review jobs run in the background against a manuscript and report progress through notifications.
Each review starts from its own manuscript saved version so the agent reviews a stable draft while you continue editing.
- Choose a ready agent from the manuscript menu.
- Optional instructions apply only to the queued review pass.
- Successful and failed prior reviews of the same manuscript can restore their agent-specific instructions and minimum issue severity as reused settings. Failed presets are labeled, and instruction text stays read-only until you customize it.
- If the selected agent has prior settings matching the defaults (no additional instructions and minimum issue severity 3), the most recent match is selected automatically. Any choice you make afterward is preserved.
- You can change the issue severity directly. The dialog preserves the selected instruction text and switches to No additional instructions or Custom instructions as appropriate; reselect the preset to restore exact reuse. A difference warning appears only when no available preset matches the resulting instructions and issue severity.
- Choose Customize settings only when the next pass needs different guidance. Changing instructions or issue severity can prevent reuse of cached section summaries.
- Reusing prior settings may reduce BL Credit use when unchanged section summaries remain compatible; savings are conditional rather than guaranteed.
- Agents that are offline, disabled, or missing provider credentials cannot be selected.
- Review comments and tasks are attributed to the agent that created them.
- Open a failed review through Jobs and Alerts and choose Restart review to queue a new job with the same agent and settings against a fresh manuscript saved version.
Use saved agent instructions for stable behavior and per-run instructions for one-time priorities such as pacing, continuity, or a final proofing pass. The review dialog keeps its action buttons visible and scrolls the compact content area when the viewport is short.
Comments & tasks separates editorial discussions from assignments. Choose Add comment or Add task. Category keeps the existing editorial categories. Higher Issue severity numbers mean more serious problems, not better writing. Replies inherit the thread category and severity.
