Effect presets are reusable audio definitions. A cue can reference a preset instead of repeating the same effect details everywhere.
- Preset identifiers should be stable and descriptive because cues refer to them.
- Edit the name, description, and definition, then choose Save changes. Unsaved edits can be kept or discarded when closing.
- Volume and Pause narration are cue placement settings, not effect preset fields.
- The definition editor provides syntax help, examples, and audio asset insertion. If live syntax metadata is unavailable, cached or bundled help remains available with a warning.
Preview a preset or cue before applying it across many headings or manuscript blocks.
Open Project library > Effects in the Explorer, below Images, Audio, and Files. Effect presets belong to the project and are shared by all its books and manuscripts, without book overrides. Choose New effect preset beside Help in the page header. Save changes saves immediately; closing with unsaved edits offers keep or discard. Preset previews use project settings and project voices. Choose Listen, then Play. Closing the editor leaves already playing audio in the floating player.
Choose Listen for snippets, selected blocks, voices, pronunciations, and effects. In Listen to selection: Audio starts automatically when it is ready. Use Stop to end playback. If your browser blocks automatic playback, choose Play to start it manually. You can also download the prepared audio. Check a short selection before publishing the entire manuscript.
Publish manuscript prepares files for the entire manuscript, even when you select only audio. Choose the output formats, then Publish. Publication ready means the files are ready to download, not that your work has been distributed publicly.
Audio reuse is an advanced setting. Group reusable audio by shows heading levels with their configured names; a level is not necessarily a chapter. Pause narration pauses the voice while a sound cue plays. Sound effects add sounds to the story; voice effects change narration.
