Book settings

Book-level overrides for one title inside a project.

Book settings narrow project defaults for one title. Most controls either inherit from the project or override the project value for this book.

  • General controls cover typography and book-scoped collaboration defaults.
  • Publishing controls store book-level defaults for EPUB and audiobook metadata, including subtitle, author, publisher, description, rights, ISBN, subjects, series data, and ordered title-page fields. The book title is inherited from the book itself.
  • AI assistant controls add instructions that should apply when this book is assistant context.
  • Artwork controls choose cover and title-page image assets for book outputs.
  • Headings controls can inherit project defaults or set book-specific rhythm, cues, and table-of-contents behavior.
  • Voices, pronunciations, and effects controls let one book set audiobook defaults without changing the whole project.

Use book overrides sparingly. If every book needs the same setting, put the value on the project instead.
